The Lanesborough, London

A throwback to the grace and panache of the early 19th century, the Lanesborough surrounds its guests in opulence while also ensuring that the latest conveniences are subtly incorporated throughout. Complementing its revival of traditional hospitality, the hotel’s architecture and interiors have been restored to their original 1828 glory.

A well-equipped fitness centre offers the latest cardio and weight machines for those looking to work up a sweat, while the Spa Studio provides guests a soothing respite in which to unwind. The cadre of top concierges and butlers ensure that every request is met and every arrangement is made—the better to ensure a pleasurable stay.

The rooms and suites are decorated with Regency period pieces and 19th century artwork, while also incorporating technologies such as wireless Internet and email access, movies on demand, and a digital music library. Many of the rooms offer lovely views of Hyde Park. Choose a suite for even more luxurious appointments, including bathrooms with Carrera marble, spa bath, and separate shower
Dining
A modern Italian dining destination, Apsleys offers dishes that incorporate only the freshest ingredients and seasonal produce. Guests dine in one of two elegant dining rooms, while the two wine tasting rooms serve an impressive list of wines—many by the glass. Teatime at the Lanesborough is a can’t-miss event. Named “Best Afternoon Tea in London” by the UK Tea Council in April 2008, it features luscious homemade sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Karl Kessab, England’s first tea sommelier, will help you select the perfect tea. The Library Bar, designed in the style of a Regency library, is a sophisticated spot to grab a drink, and the Withdrawing Room presents a relaxing Regency atmosphere for sipping a cocktail or conducting business

Six delightful function spaces serve as elegant backdrops for dazzling balls, stylish receptions, professional meetings and launches, or private dinners. Venues range from the Wine Cellar, ideal for a catered dinner for up to 12, to the Belgravia Room, which can accommodate up to 180 guests for a cocktail reception.
