Aspen's Hotel Jerome is celebrating its 120th anniversary, having opened in 1889. To commemorate the anniversary, the hotel introduced a "History Buff" package, available May 22, 2009, to Jan. 2, 2010.Included are a three-night stay in a deluxe king room; a tour of Aspen with Blazing Adventures, including such areas as Ashcroft Ghost Town, Independence Pass, Watson Divide and Snowmass Creek; two complimentary Aspen Crud cocktails at the famed J-Bar (learn its origin and recipe); and 1889-themed turndown amenities, including Jerome silver dollar souvenir coins, an 1889 photo album of the hotel and "Fun Facts about 1889" card.
Rates start at $899, based on double occupancy, providing a savings of 20 percent. Three-night minimum stay is required.
